Bluebird | First Order*

BLUEBIRD is a fantastic tea company, who we're just online but have now opened a store in Brighton (which I'll be visiting next month, EEEEK!!!) *breathes* They have a wonderful range of tea's and we're kind enough to offer me a discount code to review this lot for you guys! I tried to get a nice range.

Here's what BlueBird Tea say about themselves:

Bluebird Tea Co. is a fairly young, happiness spreading, independent, award-winning, caring little Tea Mixology company on a mission to make people happy with Tea!

- We are the UK's expert Tea Mixologists specialising in the most creative and flavourful blends.
- We are spreading happiness, one cup at a time.
- You must watch our fairly awful video. Forgive us we make tea, not videos. (Find it here)

All these tea's are samples size, consisting of around 10 cups per pouch and are available on the BlueBird website for £3 each. Bargains there.

The Tea's

Dozy Girl:
A soothing, sleepy time blend of chamomile, rose + lavender.

This tea is full of lavender petals and rose buds! It's so pretty and as you can imagine smells devine. This was one of the favourite teas I tried from BlueBird and was perfect for relaxing at night time. I'll repurchase this in a larger size.

Skinny Minny:
An energising, metabolism boosting, stomach calming elixir oolong and pu'errh tea.

I'm currently trying to lose weight so this was a definite to be added to the basket for sure! I'm glad it is a pu'errh and oolong tea, as most weight loss teas are green. The smell again is gorgeous. Containing ginseng, ginger, orange and fennel the most prominent to me was actually the orange with a tang of ginger. Delish!

Earl Grey Creme:
Award-winning, fresh + fragrant Earl Grey tea with a hint of vanilla.

I love Earl Grey tea, and was the tea that got me into tea drinking mainly, but with the added vanilla you can really taste it and it adds a lovely creamy taste to it. This is a black tea. Can be enjoyed with or without milk but I chose without as I hate milk.

Morning Kick:
Get a healthy start every morning with our zesty yerba mate tea. An energy boosting tea with lemon and ginger.

This is a Mate tea, in lemon and ginger flavour. It has real pieces of lemon grass and pieces of ginger in the tea, which makes the smell of this in a morning very awakening. I'd previously tried Lemon and Ginger tea by Twinings and really didn't like it so I was hesitant. But I loved this! I used to take it to work on my early starts!

Honey Bee Beautiful:
Excellent exfoliating skin elixir rooibos tea with delicious notes of honey.

This is a rooibos tea also known as red bush. This is my least favourite out of the ones I've tried. The smell of honey was a little too strong, but I drank it cold and found it much more pleasant. I'm not a lover of honey, but anything for my skin!

Coco Chai Number 5:
A classic spiced chai tea with a dash of coconut to boot!

Chai tea is also one of my favourite tea's, it is a black tea consisting of many different spices and comes from India where the word 'chai' simply means tea. But with added coconut. Well hello favourite tea ever! The smell of this is just devine! A must try and will be a re buy for me!

Rhubarb & Custard:
Tangy rhubarb and creamy custard a guilt free sweet treat!

How did they actually get this tea to to really taste like rhubarb + custard crumble! It really does. I loved it. The tang form the rhubarb plus the creamy custard is lovely. Great for an after dinner treat if you don't want pudding. This is a Rooibos tea.

Retro Ted:
Hawaiian fruit tea blend, coconut, pineapple, lemon grass and rose.

This is also a very colourful pretty tea. Can tea be pretty?! This is the first one I tried as soon as I received the parcel I had to rush off to a hospital appointment but I couldn't wait to get home to try these! It was fab. Drank it up straight away in a few sittings I couldn't get enough! You must try this.

Mint Choc Roobios:
Delicious peppermint chocolate tea with no calories!

I love peppermint tea, I love minty things anyway so I was looking onward t trying this one. Might I add the chocolate pieces are in heart shapes! Yes hearts! How cute is that!! So the peppermint taste very fresh and lovely tasting with the added chocolate adds a nice natural sweetness.

Strawberry & Lemonade:
Bluebirds bestselling fantastically fruity tea infusion that tastes as good as it smells!

This is the other tea that I will be re buying, but this one will be in a bigger bag! I'm so glade I accidentally bought two of these, I was gutted when the first one ran out. It's just wow! It's a fruit tea and perfect hot and cold, great for summer iced tea! I love it!

MojiTEA:
A super refreshing blend of green tea, peppermint and lime.

Let me start by saying me and green tea aren't a great match. I've been told to brew it on colder water not boiled, and for less time etc.. So I thought I'd try this one. I suppose different brand do it different. I love Mojito's my favourite cocktail, so despite the green tea bit I needed this tea! And I do love it! Green tea is great for the kidneys and only having one I want to drink more. The added lime and mint is fab! And perfect drink for anytime, hot or iced.

2 Samples which are sent with every order. No always these tea's though.

Did you know they are the first and only UK tea company to sell flavoured MATCHA?! And it's only £15!!

Sorry for the long post.. There's a lot of tea! I loved all of these and will repurchase a few, and some in larger sized bags. I'm so excited to see what they've come up with for Autumn and Christmas! I'm running scarily low on Bluebird tea too! Waiting for the new ones!

Chash | Elderflower & Ginger*

My first post!

Dan from CHASH tea was wonderful enough to send this tea over.

Chash describes this tea in the perfect way...

A delicious and crisp blend.

The strength of ginger root, cardamom, cinnamon and bruised pepper juxtaposed with delicate elderberry, floral elderflower and mallow blossom.
Powerful and mild all at once!
Pour over ice, or refrigerate, for a delicious presse.

This is what I thought of it...

Elderflower & Ginger brews to a gorgeous golden colour.

When this tea was first brewed the smell of elderflower was the strongest, which I liked as I love Elderflower. But then when I left the tea to brew for 2 minutes the smell of Ginger did come through, although underlying but very nice!

Taste. I was dubious of trying this tea and had mixed feelings, but trusted what Dan had sent. Firstly, I was happy and eager to try it as I love Elderflower, in a  cordial fizz iced in Summer lush! So I was super excited to find elderflower in a tea which I never had before. But then the ginger, I had a bad experience with a ginger tea so didn't want this to taste like drinking fire either!

But obviously it being a Chash tea I was pleasantly surprised! The sweetness to the elderflower and the spice form the ginger really do counteract each other and allow for a perfectly balanced tea. The ginger has a lovely warming taste, not a burning taste. Which makes drinking this tea very refreshing and light.

The flavour is strong but delicate. The taste of this tea was far more delicate than I expected. Matching perfect to an afternoon tea, with a slice of cake! I have been feeling a little rubbish lately, and this tea was lovely and comforting sat with a perfect Ryan Gosling marathon! The perfect pick me up.

I would recommend this tea to both people who do and don't like ginger tea because the taste of ginger is there, but in a smoother note. You can really taste the luxury of this tea! The high quality of tea can be found in taste, and this perfect tea blend, is just gorgeous!

Get on the Chash site to find this tea here.
This tea comes in pouches or loose.

Enjoy!
